LANGUAGE ARTS:

*Introducing, writing, and doing activities with the letter Dd

**PLEASE SEND IN AN ITEM THAT BEGINS WITH /d/ for Show and Tell this week.

*Tracking words (pointing to words) in sentences at the bottom of the page.

*Learning to read the following TRICK WORDS: go, we, and, is, can.  Reviewing: look, at, a, my, I, the, this, see, like.

*Reading and writing in our RAZ kids groups and reading groups

*Having “Show and Tell” Wednesday (Girls) and Friday (Boys).

MATH:

*Working on NUMBER SENSE and doing activities with the numbers 0-10. Focus number is 7 this week.

*Working ordinal numbers first-fifth.

*Creating even more fun patterns!

SOCIAL STUDIES

*Working in our unit of study on THANKSGIVING.  Our emphasis this week will be on Turkeys. Look for our Turkey Book to come home this week.

*Practicing for our play, A Thanksgiving to Remember.

SCIENCE:

*Doing activities about fall. Our emphasis over the next few weeks will be on fall weather, fall leaves, and animals in fall.

*Going on a Fall Hike on our Nature Trail!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*Read your “Book It” books for November. 

NOVEMBER CALENDAR ACTIVITY:  Your child will receive a turkey with their name on it, if they can spell November (orally) and identify

the numbers 0-10.

Please mark Tuesday, November 25th on your calendar!  Our Kindergarten classes will be presenting a short Thanksgiving play in our cafeteria. More information to come home soon.

Homework for the Week on Back

Monday: Practice identifying the letters/sounds for Ii,Oo,Gg,Dd,Cc,Uu,Aa, .

Draw and label with your “own sounds”, 3 pictures that begins with /d/.

Tuesday: Practice counting from 0-30 two times. Practice counting backwards from 10-0 two times. I did it! _____

Wednesday: Draw 5 turkeys in a row. Practice counting the turkeys using your ordinal numbers: first, second, third, fourth, fifth.  Count five times.

Thursday: Practice reading the following sight/trick words: go, can, and, is, we.
