Whew!! What a day…
Well, I have to say, I am extremely proud of all the Olympians that participated in today’s Reading Olympics Competition. All students have something to be proud of. While, we weren’t the GCPS winner (well to me you all were!), we did come awful close. We were tied for first and had to undergo a tie-breaking round. Our congratulations go to Byrd Elementary’s “Reading Rockers”, who came ahead to beat us. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing it again next year. I hope that we can recruit enough students to have two teams represent GES, like they had at BES and RES.
A special thanks to all the people that made the Reading Olympics Competition so awesome (Glenda, Sue, Bev, Jennifer, Jamie-Ellen, Adrian, RES Hospitality Committee, Connie, Anne, Paula, Jamie). And it was really cool to see all the elementary Principals!!!
