Great Depression Test – Another Update!

All classes will take the Great Depression Test the first day we return to school from our snow break!

Since we have been out so long, here are some things you can do to review for our test:

1. Look over your Great Depression Quick Notes, Vocabulary, and Quiz.

2. Have someone quiz you on the information you’ve studied.

3. Make flashcards with the important people, events, organizations (New Deal Programs), and vocabulary terms.

4. Play SOLPass games at www.solpass.org 

        -Click on Middle School

        -Play the US History 1877 to the Present (picture of the car)

       -E-mail me for the password if you don’t remember it from class. I’m not allowed to post it on my blog.

 5. Watch BrainPop videos at http://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/ushistory/

       -You can watch these videos to review for the test: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Great Depression, Great Depression Causes, New Deal

      -E-mail me for the username and password.

6. Remember to look over your old study guides, tests, and quizzes to help you prepare for the past practice questions.

 

If you’re still bored, you can also:

2.  Watch more BrainPop movies for all subjects.

3. Watch CNN Student News…you know you miss Carl Azuz!

All of my classes will be taking a Great Depression Test on Monday and Tuesday. This test will cover the following information:

-Banks & Stocks

-Causes of the Great Depression

-Life During the Great Depression

-The New Deal

All of this information is included in the Great Depression Vocabulary and Quick Notes. Students also received a Great Depression Study Guide in class. Here is another copy in case one is needed at home. All the information can be found in the vocabulary/quick notes.

The test will consist of:

Gifted Class-

50 multiple choice questions (30 on the Great Depression, 20 past practice)

5 short answer questions

1 essay question (Big Hint: Study the New Deal!)

Accelerated Classes-

50 multiple choice questions (30 on the Great Depression, 20 past practice)

5 short answer questions

Regular Class-Great Depression Study Guide

The Marking Period 2 Test will be on

Monday 1/11 for Day 1

Tuesday 1/12 for Day 2

The test will be 50 multiple choice questions and cover all the material we have learned this year:

-Moving West,

-Growth of America

-Imperialism

-World War I

-Roaring 20s

Students will receive a MP2 Study Guide and work on this in class. It is due the day of the test. Students can use the link below to complete the second half of their study guide:

***Since this is a cumulative test, students will need to study their MP1 Study Guide as well. This should be located in their Social Studies binder. Students should use both study guides (MP1 and MP2) to prepare for the test.

Students also have the opportunity to complete flashcards for extra credit. The list will be available in class. Flashcards are due the day of the test. Students who complete the flashcards will receive 5 points on their MP2 Test.
