The school year has come to a close.  However, I hope that our students will still take some time over the summer to read!

Students at RES have been given a copy of the “Read to Win” summer reading flyer.  All they have to do is keep track of 10 books read during the summer, have their parents sign it, and then return the form to me next September.  Students who do this will be presented with a blue ribbon (along with some other fantastic prizes) at Field Day of the Past on September 23rd!

Another reading opportunity is for upcoming 4th and 5th grade students.  That’s right – it’s time for the 2012-2013 Reading Olympics book list!  Students who choose to participate will be given official sign-up forms in the fall, but are encouraged to start reading some of these wonderful books during the summer.

Don’t forget to check out the Summer Reading Program at the Pamunkey Regional Library, too!
