The NAWC’s Building Design Program is targeted towards middle school students with participation averaging between 600-800 students per year for the Richmond Chapter. Competing students had to establish a company that was contracted to design and build a 120-180 square foot shed on a site provided. The students then designed a shed to meet the typical needs of such a building, including the features within general construction guidelines, meeting their client’s needs as well as staying below the cost constraint of $18,0000. The team also had to submit floor plans, elevations, quantity take-offs, project costs, site layout, career reports, projects reports, and a scale model for judging.

Congratulations to Team KKYT of GMS and to Ms. Moore!
