5th Annual 4-H “Ag Day”

Goochland 4-H Agriculture and Natural Resource Day is a 4-H program that was created as a Goochland High School senior project 5 years ago. As part of her Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School capstone project, Ms. Erin Henley – a 4-H member and GCPS student – wanted to leave behind a legacy for hundreds of elementary children.

Throughout her senior year, Erin and Ms. Jocelyn Dailey, 4-H Cooperative Extension, worked together to plan the inaugural event for 4th graders back in 2009. It has been resounding success every year since.

Thank you, Erin.

Additionally, several community sponsors have helped make Ag Day possible over the past 5 years:

  • Ms. Jocelyn Dailey and the Goochland 4-H
  • 4-H members
  • 4-H volunteers

This is such an incredible day for our students. Taking it all back to where Goochland county began. Students get a first-hand experience with agriculture and all of its components. Great job, Ms. Dailey and Ms. Henley. Kudos to you for looking out for future generations.
