2013 Summer Regional Governor’s School

Dear 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders Eligible to Apply for the Summer Regional Governor’s School and Parents,

The Summer Regional Governor’s School at the MathScience Innovation Center is a great opportunity to broaden middle school students’ learning and gain invaluable hands-on educational experience. Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who are formally identified as gifted learners are eligible to apply for acceptance into the program. Additionally, we are pleased to inform you that Goochland County Public Schools is once again supporting our students’ application and consideration for participation through division funding. This support is a tribute to the commitment our School Board and Dr. Lane have to providing a broad array of meaningful opportunities to our students.

The Summer Regional Governor’s School is a regional enrichment program, of which Goochland in one of 13 participating school divisions. As such, Goochland is granted six nomination slots with at least three of those nominations resulting in acceptance by officials at the MathScience Innovation Center.

If you are interested in applying for consideration for this summer’s program, your completed application packet must be returned to either Mrs. Amy Hartley, School Counselor – Grades 8/9, Ms. Stacey Rainbolt, School Counselor – Grades 6/7, or Mrs. Grace Creasey, Honors Chair, no later than Friday, February 22.
