All Abuzz About…..Technology

Yesterday we used our IPads to take pictures of shapes in our classroom and then traced them.  Thank you Mrs. Parrish for helping us out!

We Are All Abuzz About…….

 

Dear Parents,

 

I had a great first week of school and I hope that the children did, too.  It’s hard to believe how fast last week flew by. 

 

What’s New This Week:

 

·      Shapes – we will continue to learn about shapes, including their names and identifying features, such as how many sides each shape has.  We will also read shape poems and put them in our poetry journals.

 

·      Names – we will continue to learn to recognize and write our own names, and our neighbor’s names.

 

·      Colors – we will continue to review color names in both Spanish and English.

 

·      School Rules – we will continue to learn classroom rules and procedures.

 

·      Behavior Chart – we will also learn about the rewards and consequences of choosing to follow/not follow the rules.

 

·      Sight words I and A.

 

·      We will learn to recognize the American Flag and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

·      This week we will have homework.

Homework Schedule:

 

Monday – Number Writing and Shape Recognition

 

Tuesday – Practice writing the letter Tt, color Tt pictures.

 

Wednesday – Sight Word Wednesday – I and A.

 

Thursday – Citizenship Worksheet.

We Are All Abuzz About …….

 

Dear Parents,

I am sure that everyone is excited, and maybe a little nervous!  This is our first week of school.  I am going to work hard to make sure that our little ones have a great time at school.

We Are All Abuzz About:

·      Shapes – we will learn about shapes, including their names and identifying features, such as how many sides each shape has.

·      Names – we will learn to recognize and write our own names, and our neighbor’s names.

Encore Schedule:

Monday – PE

Tuesday – Media Center

Wednesday – PE

Thursday –  Music

Friday –  Art

Lunch:  Your child has the option to buy breakfast and lunch each day.  The costs are as follows: 

Breakfast: 

·      For students – $1.25

·      For adults – $1.50

Lunch:

·      For students – $2.40

·      For adults – $3.25

Milk – 60 cents

Ice cream – 60 cents

Activity Fee:  The activity fee is $10.00.  You may pay in cash or by check payable to Byrd Elementary School.

MealPayPlus:  You can register at mealpayplus.com and pay for your child’s lunch/breakfast online.  It’s really easy. I will send your child’s student number in his/her agenda, ( you will need this for registration).
