Wow! Look at all of the talent at GHS! If you happen to be at GHS please take a look at the display case near the art room. Impressive!
GHS art classes worked collaboratively to create this gigantic tea cup for the drama department’s production of “Alice in Wonderland”. Hope to see you this weekend at one of the shows!
Congratulations to Campbell! Her wonderful self portrait will be on display at Barnes and Noble in Short Pump this Saturday!
Using mixed media, the Art 3/4 Honors class explored self portraiture in a variety of ways. As you can see, each finished piece of art is individual and expressive of the student’s point of view.
Take a look at these Art 2 self portraits! Art 2 students created a layered background and then used india ink to paint the image on top.
Great job Art I students! Your self portraits demonstrate your knowledge of line, value, shading, blending, and achieving realism.
Excellent work Art I, I’m looking forward to displaying the finished products!
The Art 3/4 class will be going on a field trip to the Visual Arts Center of Richmond and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. At VisArts, we will participate in a 2 hour, hands on, screen printing workshop. Then we will travel to VMFA to view a screen printing exhibit by artist Ryan McGinness.
Field trip forms and payment are due Tuesday, October 7th.
