GHS Art II 3-D Letter Design

Art students at GHS are designing and building three dimensional letters!  We began with studying the history of text and typography.  Next, students designed the letter in their sketchbook and then enlarged the “font” onto chipboard, cut it out, and created the 3D effect using cups and glue.  Then, the 3D letters were wrapped with paper tape and NOW we are in the process of priming them with gesso and will then start painting a decorative finish!  Here they are in process…

GHS Art I&II Print Display

Check out the GHS LMC display of prints from Art I&II!  Art I created prints using the linoleum block printing method and Art II used the collagraph printing technique.  Students worked on creating strong compositions with a good balance of positive and negative space.  They experimented with using different colors of ink and papers and printing on a variety of surfaces.

Art III students have put their talents on display!  These talented artists worked for many weeks to complete these amazing drawings and then learned how to mat and display them.  We will truly enjoy these wonderful works of art here at GHS!
