GHS Art II Scratch Board Art

GHS Art II Scratch Board Art

Art II students at GHS have completed these gorgeous scratch art projects.  We discussed mandalas and created designs that show radial symmetry.  The visual texture you see is achieved by using a tool to scratch the surface of a black board to reveal the white underneath.

GHS Art I Color Project

GHS Art I Color Project

Art I classes are exploring the color wheel and color combinations such as monochromatic, analogous, complementary, and split complement.  These beginning artists are using colored pencils to create lights and darks throughout their compositions.  We began with observational drawings of leaves and learned about the impact of positive and negative spaces on the overall picture plane.
