Finishing Strong

Hello Friends,

I hope that you have all enjoyed a terrific weekend! This school year is quickly coming to a close.

I am so proud of the students’ hard work on their History MP4 test that was completed last week. I know that students will do an outstanding job this week on their Science SOL, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Please review all 5th grade notes that are located in Schoology, as well as any 4th grade Science material that was retained from last year.

This week will be a huge success for our 5th graders as we begin to practice for their upcoming Graduation, which will be held on Thursday, 5/28 beginning at 9:00. Directly following graduation, students will travel to the YMCA to celebrate the closure of their elementary school years with a Pool Party. Please make sure to return both required forms for attending the pool party.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Best,

Ms. Cosby

American Legion Opportunity

Goochland American Legion Post 215 will sponsor a mini-parade for boys and girls under twelve years of age at 9 AM prior to our traditional Memorial Day services. Each participant will receive an American flag and instruction on basic military marching commands. Dress is white blouses and tan skirts for girls and white shirts and tan pants for boys.
We view this as an opportunity for young people to reflect on the sacrifices our departed veterans have made to protect our freedoms and way of life.

Collecting Dimes

Hello Friends,

During the month of March we will be collecting DIMES.

It is amazing what $100 can do.

$100 can help provide food, clean drinking water and

safe passage to school. It can also increase family

income, prevent disease and provide warmth in cold

weather.

Raising $100 is easier than you think. All you need is an

empty 16oz. water bottle and the ChildFund “One Dime at

a Time” sticker.

When your water bottle is filled with dimes, you will have

about $100. Put one on your kitchen counter or your

desk at work, or visit your favorite business and ask them

to put your water bottle on the counter for 30 days. (You

may want to check back sooner — they can fill up fast!)

Once your water bottle is full, please convert your dimes

into a check and send it to ChildFund.

Making children’s lives better,

ONE DIME AT A TIME
