Thanks for a GREAT Day!

What a perfect day to spend hiking and enjoying the Shenandoah National Park. Our National Park Service is just one of  the many achievements of our fine nation.  We appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the SNP. Our trip would not have been possible without the help of many. A special thank you to the teachers who joined us and our bus drivers. Also, thanks to our Administration and Guidance Department for their support as well. Many mothers and fathers sent in permission forms and asked if we needed any help, you too are appreciated!

I was impressed with how our seniors helped each other on the hike. They carried book bags for others when they were tired or provided encouragement when folks were exhausted after the climb up the mountain. Students were very polite to those we shared the SNP with throughout the day. It was a treat to see seniors enjoy the local market and appreciate the value of the hard working farmers in the Commonwealth. Another highlight were the young ladies who brought their art supplies and created some very beautiful paintings and sketches of the SNP. I watched some learn to make “outdoors woman” coffee as it was referenced. It received great reviews. I would be remiss not to mention the hand fishing contest. Congratulations to the two winners.

Finally, above all else, I was greatly appreciate the good manners displayed. I heard many of the Class of 2013 thank their teachers and bus drivers. I think we can say we moved mountains today!

Do well on your marking period test tomorrow and Friday. I am sure as I type this the Lady Bulldogs are crushing sets and digging spikes as they come one step closer to a visit to VCU in November. Tomorrow night, our football players will know doubt bring home another victory. Go Bulldogs!
