More Community Partnerships For You To Take Advantage Of

Hats off to our local YMCA for providing such an outstanding opportunity for GHS!

Model General Assembly (MGA) is a program designed to introduce high school students to the legislative process of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Legislation is debated in committees and on the floors of the Senate and House of Delegates.  MGA is open to any student in grades 9 – 12 and some of the roles they can assume are senator, delegate, officer, lobbyist, reporter or underclassmen legislator.  Each group attending submits at least one bill along with their registration.  The students research the bill, write the bill (and follow the Code of Virginia) and practice debating the bill from October through the actual MGA conference in April.
