Senior Trip 10/15

On Wednesday, October 15th, 2014, the Class of 2015 will take their annual, autumn field trip. The underclassmen will be taking the PSAT at GHS that day. We are going to the Shenandoah National Park, at the entrance in Syria, Virginia. Throughout the day, students will be able to hike various courses. There will be ten members of the Senior Team (teachers) accompanying our students on the trip, including three bus drivers. You may access more information at the following link about this beautiful National Park: http://www.nps.gov/shen/index.htm.

We will depart from the front entrance of GHS at 8:20 am and return by 3:00. Students need to bring their own lunches. Any student may purchase a lunch in advance from the cafeteria. Please let Mrs. EYP know NO later than Friday, October 10th if a lunch is needed. Also, students should wear comfortable clothing, appropriate for the outdoors and GHS dress code. It may also be necessary to bring bug spray and/or sunscreen. Students must leave and return on a GCPS school bus.

Should it rain-

There is a small chance it could rain next Wednesday, so we have developed a contingency plan for the senior trip. Should it rain, seniors will depart from GHS, on the buses, at 8:30 to Bowl America Short Pump.  There is NO additional charge if your child has ALREADY paid his/her $8.42. Two games and shoe rentals are covered. There is a cafe there, so students may purchase snacks throughout the morning. We will return to GHS before third block ends.

Please return this sheet with the proper signatures and a donation of $8.42 to cover the transportation fees.  A check to GHS is preferred. The latter is due NO later than Monday, October 13, 2014.

Thank you for your time and support. We are looking forward to a wonderful and safe trip with an excellent senior class.

v/r,

Mrs. E. Yearout-Patton

Senior Project Reminders

Thank you for your work in Virginia Resume Wizard over the course of the last two weeks. Thanks to many for turning the resume in early.

Also, we are impressed with the ideas for the Senior Project. Many of you are opting for a hybrid SP, combining two, or all three options of the SP. The common theme this year is service. Well done, Class of 2015.

The SP Team looks forward to receiving your resume, project proposal and signature sheet this Friday.

Please, note I pulled the below screenshots and links from the Senior Project page.
