Vivacious Vocab Creations

Our B2 & B4 students are awesome! Prior to the MAP test, we discussed the importance of vocabulary, especially Greek and Latin roots. The students received a list of some of the most common roots (many of which they learned in sixth and seventh grades) and were instructed simply to “make a study guide, game, or other review tool.”

We intentionally did not give students any further direction or models because we wanted to assess their levels of creativity and understanding as much as their knowledge of roots. The excitement was contagious, and the products were incredible. Brittenee Smith (B2) and others led the way for all students to think, construct, and assist others in their studying.
