Lang. Arts- This week we will be working on our Readers Theater for Grandparents Day on Friday.

Math-  Students will continue working with and creating graphs.  Mrs. Parrish will be coming in to work with students on using technology to collect data and create graphs.

Science-  Building on what we learned at Shalom Farms students will be learning about Soil.  We will have a test next Tuesday.

*Byrd Farmers Market will be Tuesday from 5:30 to 7!  Come out and support all of our local vendors, Third grade will be selling the mosaics they made!

*PTA Meeting at 7 on Tuesday following the conclusion of the Farmers Market.

*Grandparents Day is this Friday!  Classroom visit from 11:00 to 11:25 with lunch to follow.

Lang. Arts-  Students will be working on fluency this week by practicing some Readers Theaters to perform for Grandparents Day next week.    We will be working with a new genre of fiction;  fables and folk tales.  Students will be finishing up their work on reference materials.

Math- We will have our test on Time this Tuesday.  On Wednesday students will begin working with graphs.

Social Studies – This week we will be finishing up our unit on Ancient Civilizations Mali and our test will be on Friday.

Friday will be a Type I speaker day, Susan Sekerke from the Daily Planet will be our speaker. This day is also the culmination of our X-Out Homelessness Event! She will be taking our donations with her and we would like to fill the boxes!  Please bring in : –toothpaste/toothbrushes –gloves –scarves –hats –shaving cream

Lang. Arts-  This week we will be finishing up our mystery stories and students will begin learning about a new genre.  Students have had fun with their Monster Match writing and will be seeing if the 4th graders at GES were able to use their writing to recreate their monster.  We will begin working on a new writing prompt this week to share with grandparents November 22.

Math-  We will be finishing up our unit on Time with a test to come next Tuesday.

Social Studies-  Students will be learning about how democracy worked in Ancient Greece and Rome.

Partent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday *E-mail me if you do not have a time scheduled and you would like to come in!

Field Trip to Shalom Farms on Friday *Please have all permission slips in by Wednesday.
