1.  The middle school boys basketball team travels to St. Christopher’s for their game at 5:30.

2.  The JV & varsity girls team travels to Buckingham for their games at 5:30 & 7:00.

Wednesday, January 27:

1.  The scholastic bowl team travels to Amelia HIgh School to participate in the Quad Rivers Conference Scholastic Bowl Tournament at 4:00.

2.  The wrestling team will host Armstrong is a dual match starting at 5:30.

Thursday, January 28:

1.  The wrestling team travels to Nottoway HIgh School for the rescheduled James River District Wrestling Tournament starting at 5:00.

2.  The middle school girls & boys basketball teams travel to Prince Edward for their games at 5:00 & 6:30.

3.  The JV & varsity girls basketball teams host Fuqua School at 5:30 & 7:00.

1.  The girls & boys cross country teams travel to Occoneechee State Park in Clarksville.  The boys run at 2:00 with the girls running at 3:00.  Admission is a $3.00 parking fee.

2.  The middle school boys soccer team travels to Fork Union Military Academy for their game at 4:30.

Thursday, Oct. 22:

1.  The middle school volleyball team host Nottoway at 5:00.

Monday, February 10:

1.  The James River District Basketball Tournaments starts with the quarter final games on Monday.  

2.  The varsity boys basketball team is seeded 5th and will travel to #4 Buckingham for their game at 7:00.   The cost for the games is $5.00.  

3.  The varsity girls basketball team is seeded 4th and will host #5 Cumberland at 7:00.  Cost for the game is $5.00.   The Goochland Family passes and senior citizen passes do not work for tournament games.

Tuesday, February 11:

1.  The semi-final games will be played at the top seeds still in the tournament.   With wins on Monday, the boys would be headed to #1 Bluestone for a 7:00 game and the girls would be headed to #1 Buckingham for 7:00 game.  Both teams will be playing in the Quad River Conference 34 Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, February 18.  The QRC 34 tournament is slated to be played on Tuesday, 2/18, Thursday, 2/19 and Friday, 2/20.  Seeding for that tournament will take place next week.

Friday, February 14:

1.  The varsity girls basketball team will take on Amelia in the finals of the James River District Tournaments will be played at Prince Edward High School in the middle school gym at 6:00.  The boys championship game will feature #1 Bluestone taking on #2 Prince Edward at 8:00.

As of today, 2/1/14:  

The James River District is going to try and play games through Friday, February 7 and cut the season.   We will start the JRD basketball tournament on Monday, 2/10 with quarterfinals, (top seeds, if double header 5:30 & 7:00 but if single game 7:00);  Wednesday, 2/12 Semi-Finals (top seeds, if double header 5:30 & 7:00 but if single game 7:00);  and Friday, 2/14 Finals at Prince Edward girls at 6:00 & boys at 8:00 with neutral officials.

2.  The competition cheer squad travels to Wilson Memorial High School to compete in the VHSL Conference 36 Cheer Competition at 6:30.  Cost for the competition is $5.00.  The teams that are in the competition are:  Buffalo Gap, East Rockingham, Goochland, Robert E. Lee & Wilson Memorial.  The top three teams will advance to the VHSL 2A East Competition on Saturday, November 2 at noon.

Wednesday, October 23:

1.  The cross country teams travel to Occoneechee State Park in Clarksville for the James River District Cross Country Meet.  The girls race is at 3:00 and the boys race is at 4:00.  There will be a $2.00 parking fee for spectators.

2.  The JV & varsity volleyball teams travel to Midlothian High School for their games at 5:45 & 7:00.

Thursday, October 24:

1.  The middle school boys soccer team travels to Fork Union for their game at 4:30.

2.  The JV & varsity volleyball teams host Nottoway in PINK OUT games at 5:30 & 6:30.  Cost for the games is $5.00.

3.  The JV football team hosts Cumberland at 6:30.  Cost for the game is $5.00.

Friday, October 25:

1.  The varsity football team travels to Cumberland for their game at 7:00.

 

 

Baseball team lost tonight vs. Buckingham but will host on Monday, May 27 at 5:00

Even though the baseball team lost 6-3 tonight to Buckingham in the semi-finals of the James River District Baseball Tournament.  The district championship should be good enough to lock them into the #4 seed in the Region B Baseball Tournament which starts Monday, May 27.  The Bulldogs will host a game at 5:00 on Monday, Memorial Day.

Boys soccer will play someone on Friday, May 24 for the JRD Tournament Finals

The #4 Goochland Boys Soccer team knocked off the #1 Amelia Soccer team 3-2 in the first sudden death overtime 3-2.  They will play somewhere on Friday, May 24 in the James River District Finals.  #3 Bluestone beat #6 Nottoway tonight and Bluestone will play at Buckingham tomorrow.  So Goochland will travel to Buckingham or Bluestone on Friday, more than likely at 5:00 if at Buckingham and at 6:00 if at Bluestone.

 

JRD Girls Soccer Tournament Update

Goochland girls soccer team won their semi-final game in the JRD Girls Soccer Tournament on Monday.    Due to heavy rains & fields under water, the Nottoway at Bluestone game was not played on Monday.  Due to school conflicts, the game will not be played until Wednesday. 

If Bluestone wins on Wednesday, the championship game will be played at Goochland on THURSDAY at 5:30.  

If Nottoway wins on Wednesday, the championship game will be played at Goochland on FRIDAY AT 5:30.

I will let you know Wednesday night, who wins and when the game will be played.

1.  The top singles player at Goochland High School plays in the Region B Singles Girls Tennis Tournament at Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville at 1:30.

Wednesday, May 22:

1.  Members of the track team that have qualified for the Region B Track Meet will be headed to East Rockingham HIgh School for the meet at 1:00.

2.  With a win on Monday, the varsity softball team will host the winner of the Buckingham/Bluestone game at 5:00 in the semi-finals of the JRD Softball Tournament.

3.  With a win on Monday, the varsity girls soccer team will host the winner of the Nottoway/Bluestone game at 5:30 for the championship game of the JRD Girls Soccer Tournament.  

4.  With a win on Monday, the varsity baseball team will host the winner of the Bluestone/Buckingham game in the semi-finals of the JRD Baseball Tournament at 5:00.

5. With a win Monday, the boys soccer team will travel to Amelia for the semi-final game in the JRD Boys Soccer Tournament at 6:00.

1.  The girls tennis team will host Nelson County in the semi-finals of the Region B Girls Tennis Team Tournament at 4:30.

Friday, May 24:

1.  Finals of the JRD softball, baseball & boys soccer tournaments.  With wins on Monday & Wednesday, the softball & baseball teams will be hosting.  With wins on Monday & Wednesday, the boys soccer team will still be on the road.  Times to be announced later in the week.
