Athletic events for the week of November 11, 2013

Monday, November 11:

1.  First day of tryouts for girls & boys basketball and swim teams.  

2.  The scholastic bowl team travels to Central for their meet at 5:30.

Tuesday, November 12:

1.  The varsity volleyball will host Windsor High School in the quarter finals of the 2 A East Volleyball Tournament at 7:00.  Cost for the game is $5:00 and the GHS family and senior citizen passes do not work for tournament games.

Thursday, November 14:

1.  With a win on Tuesday, the varsity volleyball team will host a semi-final game at 7:00 in the 2 A East Volleyball Tournament.

Friday, November 15:  

1.  The varsity football team will host East Rockingham High School in a first round playoff game in the 2 A East Playoffs at 7:00.  Cost for the game is $7.00.  Again GHS family and senior citizen passes do not work for playoff games.

Saturday, November 16:

1.  With a win on Thursday, the varsity volleyball will host the finals of the 2 A East Volleyball Tournament at 7:00.

Quad Rivers Conference 34 Volleyball Tournament Update

In semi-final games of the Quad Rivers Conference 34 Volleyball Tournament, #1 Goochland beat #4 Nottoway 3-0 and #3 Bluestone beat #2 Prince Edward 3-0.  Goochland will host Bluestone on Saturday, November 9 at 6:00 in the championship game.  With wins tonight, both teams have qualified to play in the quarter finals of the 2 A East Region Volleyball tournament on Tuesday, November 12.  The winner on Saturday night will host the #2 team from Conference 33 and the loser will travel to #1 team from Conference 33 at 7:00.  Semi-finals will played on Thursday at 7:00 and the finals are set for Saturday at 7:00.

Athletic events for the week of November 4, 2013

Tuesday, November 5:

1.  The quarter final games of the Quad Rivers Conference 34 Volleyball Tournament will be played at #4 Nottoway, #3 Bluestone & #2 Prince Edward.  Goochland is the #1 seed and has a bye.

Wednesday, November 6:

1.  The girls and boys cross country teams travel to Panorama Farms in Charlottesville for the 2 A East Cross Country Meet.  The boys race starts at 3:00 with the girls race starting at 4:00.  There is a $5.00 parking fee to entry the meet.

2. The scholastic bowl team travels to Buckingham for their meet starting at 5:30.

Thursday, November 7:

1.  The varsity volleyball team will host on either Brunswick or Nottoway at 6:00 in the semi-finals of the Quad Rivers Conference 34 Volleyball Tournament.  Cost for the game is $5.00.  The GHS family, individual & senior citizen passes do not work for tournament games.

2.  The JV football team will host Amelia in their last game of the year at 6:30.  Cost for the game is $5.00.

Friday, November 8:

1.  The varsity football team travels to Amelia for their last regular season game at 7:00.

Saturday, November 9:

1.  With a win on Thursday, the varsity volleyball team will host the championship game of the Quad Rivers Conference 34 Volleyball Tournament at 6:00.  Cost for the game is $5.00 and family, individual or senior citizen passes work for tournament games.
